Well, at the very least, it includes a substantial number of awesome things. But radiating awesome isn’t the only reason we enjoy blogging on the BCom Solutions website.
The fact is, if your website doesn’t include a blog, you may want to consider a little site construction because any business can benefit from regular blog posts. Yes. Whether you’re a web solutions company in southeast Nebraska (hey that’s us!) or a bakery in—well, anywhere, because bakeries are awesome—a blog can do a lot for your business. There are three main ways your business could benefit from maintaining a regular(ish) blog. So let’s discuss:
Increase your SEO ranking
In other words, be first on Google.
“Search Engine Optimization” is the key to ensuring your website appears at the top of the list whenever a potential customer keys in your business name or a phrase related to your industry on Google. Having killer SEO will give you the clicks you need to help maintain website viewership, product sales, and more.
No one actually knows the deep, dark secrets Google’s search algorithm is comprised of. One thing we do know, however, is studies consistently report that regular blog posts can move a website up the list.
Reassure customers with current information
Hypothetical situation: neither the phone number nor the location of Brent’s Coffee House (a fictitious business located at 919.5 Central Avenue in Auburn, Nebraska) has changed in a decade. (Note: Brent founded said business at age 10.)
Obviously, this information on the website will remain static. If nothing about Brent’s website needs to change, a blog is his chance to keep things fresh. So basically, if Brent’s Bakery has had the same website for FIVE years, (Ha.) a customer checking out his services online can confidently enter his address into their Google Maps knowing his company hasn’t gone anywhere, because—look!—his latest blog post, 18 Reasons Caffeine Makes Everything Better, was posted just two days ago.
Keep your company “on the radar”
Maybe society doesn’t need the services your company offers every day. But when we do, won’t it be nice if your company name is the first name that pops into our heads?
Let’s say Kendall is preparing to throw a party for Emmett’s first birthday. All of a sudden it dawns on her that Emmett is adorable—and his one-year-old adventures should therefore be documented. By a professional. With the number of available photographers in Southeast Nebraska, choosing one could easily turn into an overwhelming decision. Except Kendall doesn’t hesitate, because thanks to a consistent Facebook presence and a well-maintained blog, Rachel Anne Photography is already “on her radar.”
Looking sharp, Emmett.
But Anyway…
About your company. Sit down and make a list of things you could blog about. Anything related to your business—its mission, the industry it belongs to, or the values you’ve aligned it with—makes great content. Some people blog whenever they feel like it. Others sit down and write four at a time. This gives them the ability to schedule posts out over the span of a month or two. Do what works best for you and your business. The point is, there is business to be had. There are posts to be written.
Happy blogging!
